NeedInstall is a contractor directory covering the United States and Canada. If you build citations for home-service businesses, you can add them here one at a time or send us a CSV and we'll do the batch.
What a listing includes
- ✓A live page on needinstall.com with business name, phone, city and category (NAP).
- ✓Your client's description (up to 500 characters).
- ✓A website link marked
rel="sponsored", as Google's guidelines require for paid placements. - ✓Placement in the city & category directory pages, where homeowners browse and request quotes.
- ✓A claim link the business can use later to take over the listing for free.
What it does not include
- ×No promise of indexing. Listing pages are only index-eligible when the business matches a Google Places record (see FAQ). Even then, Google decides.
- ×No ranking promise, for the listing page or for your client's site.
- ×No lead promise. Quote requests go to listings homeowners pick; we don't guarantee volume.
- ×No followed (dofollow) link. Paid placements are always
sponsored.

Single listing
Add one business through the normal add-your-business flow. You create the account, pay by card, and the listing publishes immediately.

Pay once, send a CSV, get live URLs back. You're charged only for listings we actually create; rejected rows are refunded and existing businesses become free claims.

Send your CSV
Reply to the Stripe receipt (or email support@needinstall.com) with the completed template. One row per business, up to 10 rows.

Preflight
We normalize phone and website, map city and category, and check each row against our existing 210,000+ listings. If a business is already listed, that's a free claim, not a sale: we send you the claim link and don't charge for that row.

Live URLs
Within 5 business days you get a results CSV: client_ref, status, live URL, and a reason for any row we couldn't create.

Refund
Rejected rows (duplicates, unknown city, placeholder businesses, missing authorization) are refunded at $7.90 each to the original card.

One row per business. Keep the header row exactly as in the template.

Why is the website link rel="sponsored"?
Because the placement is paid. Google asks that paid links carry sponsored, and we follow that for every self-listed or agency-submitted business regardless of tier. The listing still works as a citation: consistent name, phone, address region and website on a crawlable page.
Will the listing page be indexed by Google?
Only if the business matches a Google Places record. Listings created from a CSV have no Google Place ID, so they start out noindex and are left out of our sitemap. When the business claims the listing (free) and picks itself from the Google search in the claim flow, the Place ID is attached and the page becomes index-eligible. We don't run Places lookups for agency CSVs. Index-eligible is not the same as indexed; we make no indexing promise.
What do you reject?
Placeholder or fake businesses, rows without authorization=yes, cities or categories we don't cover, and businesses outside home services. Duplicates of an existing listing aren't rejected; they're converted to a free claim and not charged.
How do corrections work?
Email support@needinstall.com with the client_ref and the fields to change; we fix NAP, description and website at no charge. Category or city moves are also free as long as the new value is one we cover. Once the business claims the listing, it edits its own details from the dashboard.
Who owns the listing?
The business does. Agency-created listings have no login attached. We give you a claim link per listing; hand it to your client and they can claim it for free, attach their Google Business Profile, and manage it from their own account. You keep the live URL for your citation report either way.
